Made from recycled guitar strings, these make perfect gifts for musicians or music fans. These strings have been used by musicians in the Oxfordshire area and many of the strings have been used during gigs. Because they are recycled, many of the strings have fret marks on them, which adds to the character of each piece. It’s great to be able to upcycle something into a unique piece of jewellery rather than adding the strings to landfill. These necklaces are great gift for music fans and musicians, and are a great alternative to the guitar string bangles if you are unsure of the wrist size. The plectrum used in this piece was punched from a plastic sheet which is a recycled by-product from the petro-chemical industry
The strings were sterilized first, then the pendant was made from a silver coloured guitar string formed into a two-layer twisted hoop then finished with silver coloured beads and white guitar plectrum. The ends are wire wrapped with silver coloured wire and soldered.
The pendant diameter is approximately 4.5cm and is hanging on a 2mm black leather cord, which is 45cm – 50cm long including the extension chain. It has a lobster claw fastening.
Guitar strings often contain nickel so these items are not suitable for people with a nickel allergy. Comes in an organza gift bag.
